Portfolio of Works

This is the section where you’ll find the big ones!  I use my smaller paintings, and sketches to come up with ideas that I want to paint LARGE!  Painting large outside doesn’t work for me. I prefer the comfort of my home studio, with coffee, no wind, no bugs, and good music.  

Plein Air painting is my form of meditation. Because of the amount of focus it takes to really hone in on absorbing and relaying the local landscape and energy onto a canvas, I go blank in all other departments! LOL!  Not worried about the nasty lady in the parking lot, or what I’m making for dinner….I just look at colors and shapes and take it all in. Gratitude for this luxury is not wasted on me.

These small studies are my notes. They are what I use instead of photographs. I find that my photography skills leave much to be desired in conveying the colors that I actually saw. So once I’m finished with my color notes, the oils are framed in a simple 3”wide gold leaf frame with a linen liner, and the watercolors are framed in a simple black 1” frame with acrylic glazing which is safe for shipping.  It’s a great way to start, or add to a collection, and the perfect size for so many small areas that just need a little something, 

After six months of looking for a Giclee service that I’m happy with, finally success!
