Artists Statement:
Pursuing a career in art is what I've always wanted to do but never felt that I had the opportunity.
Besides, I was having way too much fun with accounting. Woo Hoo! But it turns out that life is what
you make it. The only one who never allowed me to paint for a living was me!
In 2006 I lost my mind, quit my job and started painting full time with pastels. I especially like the
way pastels refract the light, but I'm also experimenting with acrylics, oils and gouache liquid
paints.
Either at home in Corrales, New Mexico, or during my travels both near and far, I paint outside as
much as possible. The rest of the time I'm at the easel in full view of the beautiful Sandia
Mountains. It is my passion to continue to paint the best I can for the rest of my life.
Thanks very much for visiting my site. I hope you enjoy.

Since some of you enjoy seeing what I'm working on when you visit my studio, I thought an on line "studio visit"
might be fun. So, with that in mind, this 24 x 36 pastel is what I'm currently working on.
It's a farm scene, with a dilapidated old barn on the left, hay bales in the front, and a few out buildings and distant
mountains barely in sight for the background. I'll post updates as I go.
This was my first session of painting on this one
PUtting in some housing in the back
Now...some decisions on the sky...to cloud or not to
cloud. That is the question!
Well the clouds were really beautiful but made the painting
too "noisy" so I took them out. I'm almost finished.
